Larkspur, Cleome Spider, Sugar Berry, Marigold



The Larkspur Giant Imperial Blend, 'Consolida ambigua', has tall spires of elegant, tightly packed flowers. Shades of blue, pink, and white flowers are set atop of long stems. The Giant Imperial Larkspur blooms in mid spring to early summer.The Larkspur prefer a cool location in full sun. They like moist, rich, well drained soil that is slightly alkaline. Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Larkspur are excellent for cut or dried flowers and as backdrop plant in front of a fence or wall.

The Cleome Violet Queen, 'Cleome spinosa', is a knockout! It is easy to grow and lends authority to any garden with the wonderful late summer color. The fluffy flower clusters are 3 to 6 inches across, and are a deep violet color. The Violet Queen is a wonderful flower to attract butterflies. The flowers and dry seed capsules are wonderful in arrangements. They can be mass planted in island beds, instead of trees or shrubs, where a strong vertical impact is needed. Plant in full sun for best results.






The Gomphrena Strawberry Fields, 'Gomphrena haageana', will delight you with it's vivid, striking red flower clusters. It is a native of Texas and Mexico so they are recommended for areas with hot and humid summers. Strawberry fields has 3/4 inch wide, round, papery. lover-like flower heads. They bloom from summer into early fall. They do not require any special care and are fairly drought tolerant. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. They make excellent cut and dried flowers.




The Marigold Giant Sunset, 'Tagetes erecta', is a tall Marigold that will grow to 3 foot tall. If you love Marigolds, why not go all out and try a Marigold that will grow TALL. The flowers are also large and are shades of orange and yellow. The Giant Sunset will begin to bloom in late spring and will continue to bloom until first frost. They are moderately drought tolerant, so only water when needed. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. This Marigold is excellent for edging, pots, containers, and as a cut flower.
